This course will teach how to size a residential application for its domestic hot water needs for most indirect water heaters. Once the domestic hot water demands are known, we will then select an indirect water heater based on pipe sizing, circulator sizing, head loss, and recovery rates. Many formulas will be taught on how to calculate recovery rates, velocity flow rates, and we will discuss the use of thermostatic mixing valves. We will also discuss large demands such as body sprays and soaking tubs and finish up with trouble shooting the systems.
